A little guidance to help you get the most from your massage or facial treatment.
Drink plenty of water post-treatment to keep well hydrated and assist in the removal of toxins.
Avoid alcohol or caffeine for at least 12 hours after treatment, as this will dehydrate your body and won't help to remove the toxins.
Get plenty of rest after your massage treatment as you may feel tired or sleepy — please don't overdo it, especially if you are pregnant.
It's normal to experience slight tenderness for 2–3 days after a deep tissue massage, especially in areas that were worked on. You may also feel a bit sluggish or experience mild headaches — these are positive signs that muscle tension has been released and your body is flushing out toxins. To reduce tenderness, you can alternate between cold and hot compresses. However, if you are pregnant, please avoid heat therapy.
Your treatment may cause temporary reactions, which should subside within a few hours. However, if you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. If symptoms persist beyond 24 hours, please contact your GP for further advice.
Don't overeat — as this can quickly eliminate that feel-good feeling; instead eat healthy and light food.
If you plan to exercise within a few hours of your massage, keep in mind that your muscles will be deeply relaxed, which may temporarily reduce strength and stability. To avoid injury, listen to your body and refrain from overexertion.
Your body will continue to benefit from the nourishing oils and creams used during your treatment, so avoid rushing to wash them off.
